The Process
Design > Your initial consultation
At your initial free consultation Phillip will discuss your likes, dislikes & your
expectations from your new garden.
This meeting should take about an hour and will include
a gentle stroll around your garden to assess its condition & to get a feel for what
styles you appreciate this will also hopefully be followed by a cup of coffee!
Design > Client brief & statement of intent
Phillip will issue a statement of Intent and return to carry out a full site analysis of
the area to be designed, this is to measure the site & to establish soil condition, aspect
& orientation & a health check for any plants or trees that are to remain.
Together a client brief is written, this is an essential part of the process & needs to
incorporate as much feedback from each client as possible.
Design > Concepts
Three hand drawn concept sketches are presented; ideas for shapes, textures, colours
& hard landscaping are all present at this point. Each drawing is discussed in detail and
from this process the final design will evolve.
Design > Design drawing & Plant plan
The final design drawing, a plant plan & accompanying "suggested" plant list are presented. This completes
the design process.
Build > Estimate of cost
Phillip will provide an accurate estimate of cost for the build and a schedule of work,
which should provide an indication of timing of the build process.
Build > Contractors
Phillip works alongside experts in the fields of wood stone, water & landscaping to ensure
that the design is translated as faithfully as possible. The relevant contractors are put
in place to begin the process of turning the design into a reality, this is fully project
managed & supervised by Phillip.
Build > Planting
Once the hard landscaping has been installed the planting process begins. Phillip himself
carries out this phase of the build.
The plants are sourced & brought from nurseries &
specialist growers, offering a wider selection, higher quality & better prices.
